With just a few simple strategies that everyone can follow, including skincare and beauty tricks, mum of two Julia maintains a young-looking appearance.
She credited her fresh-faced look to a finely tuned skincare routine.
Julia treats herself to Hydrafacials facials that she gets every five weeks.
Healthline stated: “The HydraFacial works to deep-clean, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin.”
Julia added: “They’re quite expensive, but you only get one skin, so you’ve got to invest in it.
“I feel like I’ve been spring cleaned afterwards, it’s lovely.”
The 53-year-old also recommended finding daily products that suit each individual’s skin, without breaking the bank.
She stated: “I found a range of skin products that I really like called Instant Effects. They’re not cheap and they’re not expensive – they’re sort of midrange.
“They’ve got a deep wrinkle corrector but I haven’t really got wrinkles.”
Her one insecurity is her “barmaid’s chest”, which she credited to years of sun beds.
She revealed: “If my age shows anywhere, it’s on my chest.
“I used to have sun beds a lot when I was in my 20s. I had my own flat and I hired one for my bedroom. I just loved being brown, and you don’t really get burnt under a sun bed which is the dangerous thing, so you sort of get addicted to being brown.”
According to the NHS: “They can cause your skin to age prematurely, making it look coarse, leathery and wrinkled.”
So, Julia counts herself lucky that her skin hasn’t suffered from the artificial sun: “It’s really incredible that my skin’s not worse than it is.”

Learning from the mistakes of the past, Julia now has a strict approach to caring for her skin in the sun.
“I’ve always put at least SPF 30 on my face, and I also use moisturisers with SPF in, but it’s only been in the last 15 to 20 years that I’ve started to do that.”
Additionally, Julia likes to lead a healthy lifestyle, and while she enjoys the odd glass of Prosecco at work events, she hits the gym “all the time”, has “cut out bread” and always has a glass of water handy.
“I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and fish and I drink a hell of a lot of water as well.”

As for makeup, Julia likes to feel fresh faced, opting for translucent face power, blusher, mascara and mascara rather than foundation: “I like my skin to breathe.”
Her secret to long, fluttery eyelashes is the miracle serum RevitaLash: “Because I’m blonde, my natural eyelashes are quite fair, and they are also quite short, so RevitaLash works wonders.
“I’ve still I’ve got a few grey flecks in my hair, so it’s not like I’ve completely got away scot free with no ageing at all.”
But Julia admitted: “I think I’m quite lucky, gene wise. I’ve always looked younger than I am, really.”
Despite hitting the gene jackpot, her top tips are something that every woman can follow to have them feeling and looking youthful through their 50s and beyond.
