Wekney Ferguson presents: Vibración (A collaboration with Drasen)

March 2022 – Wekney Ferguson is an artist and performer who has recently releases a brand new project, Vibración.

This track is a perfect example of what it’s like to produce great electronic dance music and Latin pop.

One of the most distinctive traits of this release is certainly the energy, and the drive that fuels the performance of the artist. The vocals feel very animated and spontaneous, an obvious sign that this performer is actually genuinely connecting with her lyrics, in a much deeper way. This isn’t just a puppet singer popping out catchy hooks: there is a deeper concept behind the songwriting, which really adds weight to the mix. The song begins with a deep groove, which reminds of genres such as deep house and even melodic techno. However, the vocal hooks bring a unique feel to the song, tipping the hat off to the singer’s Latin pop songwriting style. The lyrics in Spanish are beautifully emotionally, showcasing the singer’s fantastic range. In addition to that, the collaboration with Drasen is totally spot-on, giving the song a really one-of-a-kind vibe. To be more specific, Wekney Ferguson is actually the singer and songwriter, while Drasen is the music producer, who expertly made the instrumental sound absolutely killer and a great match to the flow of the vocals.

 Wekney Ferguson is not your average performer and she is always on the look out for some new ideas to spice up her sound and make her vision all the more creative and personal. In other words, this amazing artist is not the average kid on the block, and this beautiful new song is a perfect proof of concept. This release is masterfully well-produced, and the sound of this release is nothing short of world-class. In addition, the vocals are so amazing and really a good fit with the material, highlighting the balance between the vocals and instrumental. Everything on this release has a world-class feel. While the lyrics are in Spanish, this song is not only for the Latin market: anybody could easily connect with the amazing flow of the rhythm as well as the natural impact of the vocals, which are fueled by a truly beautiful performance overall.

In addition to the personable and edgy performance value, this release is also quite distinctive because of the sheer quality of the production. The mix is balanced and very detail-oriented, making for a lively, edgy and stark sonic approach. In other words, there are many subtle nuances in this release, which really add to the richness of the track when summed up together. The frequency spectrum of the mix is also very balanced, with a tight, yet deep low end working wonders along with a smooth top end, which adds a sense of clarity to the music.

Vibración stands out for its modern sound, but although the production is quite polished, it is never overproduced, allowing a lot of wonderfully organic  and “human” elements to really add liveliness to the mix. This release is a real achievement, and the artist’s range, coupled with her masterful compositional skills throughout, are proof that she’s no one-trick pony. On the contrary, she is here to stay and give the audience more. Vibración is very much a balanced combination of soothing instrumental soundscapes and present melodies that won’t get out of your head so easily. From the punch of modern electronic music, down to the melodies of the best pop songwriting, there is something so special for everyone here. Wekney Ferguson is always happy to keep an open  mind and allow her music to stretch out in different directions, rather than being stuck in the usual patterns all the time.

The song has a full, cinematic sound with a great production, and the power of the performance has a very charismatic feel to it. Any fan of naturally electrifying melodies and powerful electronic beats should have no trouble connecting with Wekney Ferguson’s music, since this artist is definitely cut from the same cloth as all of the aforementioned industry greats!

Ultimately, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a shot, particularly if you are a fan of artists such as Avicii, Tiesto and Katy Perry. This is the kind of track that will surprise you for it sonic variety, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat due to its catchy, yet unpredictable arrangement. I always love to hear from artists who set the bar higher and push the envelope when it comes to their productions: this certainly appears to be the case!
