The results match the two Presidents following a poll taken on Monday by Investor’s Business Daily (IBD)/TIPP. The 46th President now sees his rating stand at 44.4 percent, down a concerning 4.8 percent over the last month.
Mr Biden and his Democratic party face challenging mid-term elections coming up in November.
The Republicans are hoping a resurgent flow of support for former President Donald Trump will spur on results and see the Reds win the House of Representatives and the Senate, disrupting Mr Biden’s power in the process.
Mr Biden’s 44.4 percent approval rating in the IBD/TIPP poll excludes respondents who were unsure or declined to state an opinion about their approval of the job the President is doing.
The poll was conducted among 1,355 US adults in early February.
At the same time in November 2018, Mr Trump stood at 42.6 percent in the polls.
The similarity in the polls could spell tough times for Mr Biden, as the former President lost control of the House of Representatives, seeing Nancy Pelosi return to her role.
The swing in balance led to the house starting impeachment proceedings against Mr Trump in 2019 and in 2021.
Some Republicans are hopeful a change in balance this time round could lead to measures being taken to impeach Mr Biden.
