Barcelona fire: Shock moment hotel guests forced to jump from windows to escape flames

Guests at the Hotel Coronado in Barcelona, Spain, were left fleeing for their lives after a fire erupted at the hotel. Horrifying footage shared on social media shows at least three people jumping out of the window onto what appears to be a rescue inflatable mattress on the street. Passers-by can be heard screaming as a man takes a leap and successfully gets to the ground.

The hotel can be seen becoming engulfed by billowing black smoke as two fire engines arrive at the scene.

Ser Catalunya reporter Anna Punsí wrote on Twitter: “One critically injured and two more seriously injured in a fire in a hotel on Carrer Nou on Rambla BCN.

“Two people have thrown themselves out of the window fleeing the smoke. Neighbors have put mattresses on the sidewalk.

“This is one of the hardest times.”
