Disturbing footage shows the moment Dutch TV anchor Sjoerd den Daas was grabbed by a sinister Chinese official donning a red armband as he reported live from the Winter Olympics in Beijing on Friday. Despite efforts by the Dutchman to continue his report, the ferocious state agent continued grabbing and shoving the NOS reporter before the station was forced to cut back to the studio, ending the broadcast.
During a routine report from the Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, Mr den Daas is suddenly pounced upon by a suspected Chinese agent.
Amid the scuffle, Mr den Daas says: “You can tell we are being removed!
“We have been removed from a different location before.
“So I fear we will have to come back to you at a later point!”

Mr den Daas tries to continue his broadcast but is pushed back by the man in the red armband.
Other agents can also be seen lingering in the background as the dramatic moment unfolded.
Back home in the Netherlands, the fellow TV anchor notes “we’ll move on with the next subject” as the report goes black.
The incident is not the first NOS has experienced in China in recent days, as they took to Twitter to comment on what had happened.

Beijing 2022 officially kicked off on Friday with a spectacular opening ceremony as Great Britain are hoping to beat their record haul at a Winter Olympics.
The British Olympic Association (BOA) and UK Sport are vying for five medals, with the potential for as many as seven.
Brad Hall (bobsleigh), Charlotte Bankes (snowboarding) and Bruce Mouat (curling) are just a few names in with a chance of a medal at the Games.
Montell Douglas (bobsleigh) will also become the first woman to represent Great Britain at both the summer and winter Olympics having ran in the 100m-sprint back in 2008.
