Referring to a statement from the CEO of Walmart, the US President made the error while addressing the American people. Reading through his speech, Biden fumbled and read ‘end of quote’ cue off teleprompter.
Biden said: “And, by the way, you may have heard the CEO of Walmart yesterday on the steps we’ve taken.
“He said and I quote ‘The combination of private enterprise and government working together has been really successful.’
“He went on to say, ‘All the way through the supply chain, there’s a lot of innovation. Because of the actions we’ve taken, things have begun to change.’ End of quote.”
The gaffe-prone commander-in-chief then continued with his speech.
The slip was immediately picked up by social media with several users comparing Biden to the character Ron Burgundy in the hit-film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy, the New York Post reports.
Played by actor Will Ferrell, San Diego anchorman Ron Burgundy is renowned for reading his speeches as it appears on the autocue, including his cues.
One Twitter user quipped: “Biden goes full Ron Burgundy with the teleprompter.”
Another chimed: “Joe Biden would have made Ron Burgundy proud today.”

In June, Biden accidentally referred to Vladimir Putin as President Trump.
He was quick enough to correct himself, before continuing to speak about his discussions during the four-hour-long meeting.
Just days before his summit in Geneva with the Russian strongman, Biden appeared to confuse Syria with Libya while addressing the G7 conference in Cornwall.
And in March, Biden was caught tripping over the steps of Air Force One in an embarrassing blunder.
