‘We’ll come after you!’ Biden brutal warning to terrorists as ISIS head ‘blows himself up’

Joe Biden announced the death of Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi who killed himself and several civilians during an overnight raid. Mr Biden praised the “immense courage” shown by military forces and said in a “final act of cowardice” al-Qurayshi killed several of his family with him after blowing up the third floor of his building “rather than face justice”. The US President believed the operation sent a strong message to America’s enemies and told terrorists around the world “we will come after you” before leaving his lectern without taking questions.

Mr Biden announced in a press conference: “Thanks to the bravery of our Armed Forces, we have removed from the battlefield Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, the leader of ISIS.”

He revealed all Americans involved in the operation returned safely.

The US head of state added: “Our team is still compiling the report but we do know that as our troops approached to capture the terrorist, in a final act of desperate cowardice…

“He, with no regard to the lives of his own family or others in the building, he chose to blow himself up.

“Not just with a vest but to blow up the third floor rather than face justice for the crimes he has committed.”

Mr Biden praised the “courage and skill” of the operators and said he was “forever grateful” for their work.

Later on his in speech, the President signed off by warning America’s enemies.

He added: “We remain clear, last night’s operation took a major terrorist leader off the battlefield and has sent a strong message to terrorists around the world.

“We will come after you and find you.”

Reports suggest at least 13 people were killed, among them six children and four women, following an American airdrop into the area.

A US official told NBC that a military helicopter suffered a maintenance issue during the mission and landed a mile away from the objective and was detonated after being deemed too unsafe to fly back.

Al-Qurayshi took over as ISIS leader in October 2019 after his predecessor, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was also killed in a US raid in the same region earlier that month.

DON’T MISS:

Similarly, Al-Baghdadi detonated a suicide bomb during his raid and killed himself and three of his children.

The third floor of the building housing Al-Qurayshi was completely destroyed in the blast with the rest of the building significantly damaged.

Mr Biden said: “ISIS has directed terrorist operations targeting Americans, our allies and our partners, and countless civilians in the Middle East, Africa and in South Asia…

“He oversaw the spread of ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups around the world after savaging communities and murdering innocents.

“Thanks to the bravery of our troops this horrible terrorist leader is no more.”
