The tragic incident happened this morning at around 10:30am in Aberdeen. Emergency services raced to the scene at Deveron Road after reports of the accident. The 60-year-old’s tragic death will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergencies services attended at Deveron Road, Aberdeen at around 10.30 am on Saturday, 29 January 2022 after the sudden death of a 60-year-old woman.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
It comes as heavy winds of up to 80mph from Storm Malik have battered Scotland.
Falling trees have seen roads and rail routes closed throughout the day.
Reports are also emerging that up to 36,000 houses are now without power.
There were also reports of a trampoline blown onto the line in the Kirkcaldy area, which briefly brought the route to a standstill – although trains were able to pass through again within the hour after the trampoline was removed.
With disruption likely to continue throughout the day, two Scottish Premiership matches – Aberdeen v St Johnstone and Dundee v St Mirren – have been postponed.
Another storm is also expected to hit Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland, as well as northern and eastern England on Sunday evening, with a yellow warning for wind in place until 12:00 GMT on Monday.
